Registered Horse Sales in Ireland to resume with strict Covid-19 measures in place

General June 12, 2020

Following discussions between Horse Sport Ireland, The Department of Agriculture, Food and The Marine, and the organisers of several registered Horse and Pony Sales in Ireland, dates have been set for the resumption of sales, with each sales company introducing strict protocols aimed at ensuring that all Covid-19 public health measures, contact tracing, social distancing and return to work protocols are maintained.

Among the measures that sales companies have introduced, includes a requirement for all purchasers wishing to attend in person, to register in advance, with no admittance to the general public. Those wishing to sell or purchase an animal at any of the forthcoming sales are advised to check with each sales venue well in advance of the sales dates, to familiarise themselves with all the guidelines that will be in place at each sales venue.

A list of upcoming sales is available on the Irish Horse Gateway website HERE
