Three medals and Studbook title for ISH at Eventing Young Horse World Championships

For the second consecutive year the Irish Sport Horse Studbook won the overall title at the FEI WBFSH World Breeding Eventing Championships for Young Horses at Le Lion d’Angers in France. In addition to the studbook title Irish Sport Horses also won three individual medals from a possible six.

Great Britain’s Tom Jackson rode the Irish Sport Horse Capels Hollow Drift (Shannondale Sarco St Ghyvan x Lucky Gift) to claim individual Silver in the 7 Year Old Seciton. Capels Hollow Drift was bred in County Clare by Jeanette Glynn.

Irish Sport Horses claimed both Silver and Bronze medals in the Six Year Old section. Silver went to Emerald Jonny and Great Britain’s Piggy French. Bred by Donnach Quinn in Mayo Emerald Jonny is by Waldo Van Dungen (KWPN) out of Z Royalty Van De Heernis (KWPN), by Rubels (OLD).

USA’s Liz Halliday-Sharp and Irish Sport Horse Cooley Moonshine won Bronze ensuring two of the three medal slots were filled by Irish-bred horses. Cooley Moonshine is Cobra (HOLST) out of Kilpatrick Duchess (ISH), by Kings Master (ISH), and was bred in Wexford by MJ Kavanagh.

Of the 25 Irish-bred horses that lined out at the Young Horse Championships eight recorded top ten placings. Well done to all the connections.
