Mill House Stud bred Irish Sport Horses in winning ways

Tipperary’s Greg Broderick and the Irish Sport Horse MHS Going Global claimed their biggest Grand Prix win to date yesterday when taking the $50,000 Horseware Ireland Grand Prix at HITS Desert Circuit in Thermal, California. On Friday the Caledonia Stables owned MHS Going Global had also recorded a 5th placing in the $25,000 SmartPak Grand Prix  – won by Rich Fellers (USA) and the 19 year-old Irish Sport Horse stallion Flexible. Riding Elizabeth Shiah’s MHS Automatic(ISH) Broderick had also won the $5,000 MortgageCall Jumper Classic 1.35m on Firday.

While the Mill House Stud (MHS) bred duo were in the winnings in California, Great Britain’s Laura Renwick was has been highly consistent in the Vejer de le Frontera young horse classes with the promising mare MHS Washington (ISH).

Speaking on the successes Tom Brennan of Mill House Stud added  “We are delighted for the owners that the horses have delivered on the promise that they showed as young horses here at Mill House Stud. These horses have been carefully produced by their top riders. It’s great when a plan comes together! We look forward to bigger days ahead for all concerned.”

“I think that these results highlight that with the success of the Irish Sport Horse Studbook Showjumping series that we can produce the goods here in Ireland!” he added.

There was a further boost for the Irish Sport Horse at the HITS show yesterday when Rich Fellers and Colgan Cruise (ISH) finished second in the $15,000 Level 8 UltrOz Jumper 1.45m.
