General June 7, 2013

Last weekend saw some fantastic equestrian action in Ireland. Mullingar International Horse Show, showcased super showjumping talent, resulting in SEVEN HORSES IN their GRAND PRIX TOP TEN being ISH’S.

ALEXANDER Butler (shown in photo) and the Sport Horse Will Wimble claimed victory at the CSI2* Grand Prix at Mullingar today (Monday), adding to their recent win at the Balmoral Grand Prix in Northern Ireland last month.

The 25 year-old Meath rider was one of just four to record a double clear round in the nine-horse jump off, and despite a very strong challenge from Edward Doyle and Samgemjee, came home with just under a second in hand. Will Wimble (ISH) is a 13 year old grey gelding by Touchdown (ISH) out of The Woolsack(ISH) by Roselier (TB).

Breeders and owners, Harold McGahern, Rincoola, Granard, Co. Longford have a successful partnership with Butler, which has been in place since 2005.   Successes achieved to date, include the Lummen Grand Prix in 2012 and the Vodafone Grand Prix title in Balmoral in 2011.
