Irish bred Suma’s Zorro wins Longines Grand Prix of La Coruna
Egypt’s Sameh El Dahan and the Irish-bred mare Suma’s Zorro took the win in the €270,000 Longines Grand Prix at La Coruna CSI5*-W in Spain. They added to this with a 5th place finish in the World Cup class at the same event.
Back in June the pair also claimed the $380,000 Grand Prix in Spruce Meadows, producing the only double clear in the competition.
Bred in County Kilkenny by Susan Lanigan O’Keefe of Suma Stud, Suma’s Zorro was purchased by her current co-owner Joanne Sloan-Allen as a foal through Tattersalls Ireland. Since then she has been co-owned and ridden by Joanne Sloan-Allen and Sameh El Dahan, the latter of which has previously recorded international Grand Prix wins in Spruce Meadows, Barcelona and Arezzo as well as representing Egypt at the 2014 World Equestrian Games.
