John has been slowly and mindfully produced by us over the last 2 years. He was bought him directly from a local breeder as a 3 year old so his full history is known.
John has proved himself to be a brave sensible hunter this season hunting regularly with the Galway Blazers and the Grallagh Harriers. He is happy to hunt over varying country and is unfazed by stone walls,ditches, drains, hedges, wire post and rail etc.
He is happy and brave enough to be up the front and has also field mastered on a handful of occasions but equally he is relaxed enough to be back in the field and mingle or on his own out the back to do gates/tail rider.
John competed in this years Kildare Performance Hunter Show in the 4/5 year old class producing a lovely clear round over a tricky hunter track proving his versatility as a hunter.
He has enjoyed a varied education and has competed in Dressage Ireland (by a teenager), hunter trials, ODE, showjumping.
He competed at Millstreet International Horse Show in 2024 and recently qualified for the Eventing Ireland Western Region Starter Stakes Final 2025 against strong competition.
John is happy to go hacking solo or in a large group, he is regularly ridden by our teenage son who has also hunted him a d brought him on forest rides.
John possesses all the qualities necessary for top level competition. He is a strong well balanced athletic horse with an easy trainable temperament and an abundance of scope and ability.
He would suit both a professional or competitive amateur.
This horse has a very bright future ahead.
