Meet Silver, a truly lovely 4-year-old purebred Connemara gelding standing at 14.2hh. With his calm, kind nature and beautifully quiet temperament, Silver is the type of pony that’s very hard to find. He’s safe, steady, and reliable, making him an ideal choice for novice riders, a mother-daughter share, a riding school program, or a young child moving up from smaller ponies.
Silver is easy and uncomplicated in every way. He is a dream to handle on the ground—easy to catch, box, shoe, and hack, and he is perfectly sensible in traffic, he will hack out alone or in company. Under saddle, he’s just as easy. He never gets strong, silly, or spooky, and he takes care of his rider every step of the way. He’s laid-back without being lazy and has a lovely attitude towards his work, making him a pleasure to produce.
This gorgeous gelding has a very pretty head and is beautifully put together. He moves well, with three super paces, a soft, kind mouth, and a naturally balanced way of going. Silver is also very capable over a fence—he’s jumping confidently up to 90cm at home and is honest and straightforward to a jump. He’s the type you can point at a fence and trust him to take you over, making him an excellent confidence-giver for a child or smaller teen.
Silver would make a fantastic Pony Club allrounder. He’ll happily take a little rider from crosspoles all the way up through the levels, always giving his best and building confidence. He is quiet enough for beginners but talented enough to keep progressing with more advanced riders too.
He is a fully registered purebred Connemara gelding, with lovely old-fashioned bloodlines: Dunloughan Troy x Coral Star x Mervyn Kingsmill—breeding that brings together temperament, quality, and soundness. Silver has no stable vices and is open to any vetting.
