Meet Karl, a striking 4, rising 5 year-old purebred Connemara gelding standing at 15hh, with a touch more growing still to do. With his exceptional temperament, impressive athleticism, and fantastic attitude to work, Karl is a serious eventing prospect who is destined to go far in the right hands.

Karl is a naturally talented and genuine pony who absolutely loves his job. He shines brightest across the country, where his bravery, honesty, and eagerness to please are on full display. Whether it’s water, banks, coffins or ditches, Karl faces every challenge without hesitation and takes it all in his stride. He’s incredibly straightforward and would equally thrive as a top-class hunting pony thanks to his boldness and cool, composed nature.

On the flat, Karl is well-schooled and works happily in a soft, consistent outline. He has three quality paces and a lovely natural balance that will only improve with age and mileage. He’s also showing real promise over showjumps, comfortably and confidently schooling around courses up to 90cm. Again, his honest nature and enthusiasm make him a joy to train and produce.

Karl has the ideal temperament for an experienced rider looking to bring on a future star, but he’s also quiet and kind enough to suit a confident teenager moving up from smaller ponies, or even as a mother-daughter share. He is a gentleman to handle in every way—easy to shoe, box, catch, and ride, and he’s rock solid in traffic. He’s sociable, affectionate and has no stable vices. In every respect, he’s a pleasure to have around the yard.
