Captain has already achieved more in his five years than many ponies twice his age. He’s been there and done that, with experience in the hunting field, plenty of time spent loving life out on the cross-country course, and a confident record jumping up to 1.10m. He’s competed at training shows, handled a wide variety of environments, and proven himself time and time again as brave, honest, and willing. Nothing phases this pony. Whether you’re out hacking alone or in company, schooling in the arena, or galloping across open ground, Captain gives his rider confidence and brings joy to every ride.

What truly sets Captain apart is his temperament. He is incredibly straightforward, easy to ride, and totally uncomplicated to handle. He’s as quiet as they come and always tries his best, making him the ideal partner for a novice, a teenager stepping up from smaller ponies, a mother-daughter share, or even a riding school looking for a rock-solid all-rounder. He’s 100% in traffic and is completely accustomed to farm machinery, animals, and all the hustle and bustle of yard life. Captain is a genuine pleasure in every way — easy to catch, box, shoe, clip, and handle on the ground.

Captain’s breeding is just as impressive as his performance. He is by Alkatraz Paddy, a Class 1 Connemara stallion known for passing on athleticism, scope, and excellent temperament. Alkatraz Paddy is by Kippure Alkatraz, a son of the great Frederiksminde Hazy Merlin, whose bloodlines trace back to some of the most influential Connemara stallions in the breed. This is a pedigree built on performance and class — the kind that gives confidence in every stride and value for generations to come. Captain’s dam side complements this brilliantly, and he is fully Class 1 bred throughout.

There are no stable vices to speak of. Captain is sound, recently passed a 5 stage vetting, open to any vetting, and in top health and condition.
