Wednesday 17th of August will see the 93rd annual Connemara Pony Festival in Clifden, celebrating the world renowned Connemara pony. The festival attracts thousands of visitors from every corner of the world and will run until Sunday 21st of August. This year’s festival will incorporate many events such as showing classes, a family fun day, horse sales and the eagerly anticipated puissance challenge.
The Irish Horse Gateway team is seeing an obvious demand through the Irish Horse Gateway website for Connemara Ponies. Through the Irish Horse Gateway, a Korean delegation currently in Ireland are in the process of forming their own Connemara Pony society which is a huge step for the breed. The Irish pony is a much sought after commodity and the team at Irish Horse Gateway are hearing the same whilst exhibiting at shows internationally.
It is hoped that this event will attract breeders and producers of Connemara ponies to use the Irish Horse Gateway as a platform for showcasing their animals to both a national and international audience. Irish Horse Gateway will be sponsoring the highly contested inter-provincial show jumping championships; featuring teams from Ulster, Munster and Leinster and two teams from Connaught. This event begins at 2.30pm on Saturday 20th at the family fun day.
See the Connemara Pony Breeders Society website for more details on the event at https://cpbs.ie/ and the Irish Horse Gateway website for horse listings and more information: http://www.irishhorsegateway.ie/horses-for-sale/
The Irish Horse Gateway team will be in attendance throughout the festival and are happy to answer any queries that buyers or sellers may have.
