Description
‘Sika New Era’ is by the famous Tolan R and out of a Highland King mare . She is jet-black with four white socks and turns heads wherever she goes. She is flashy with beautiful floaty paces and a kind, gentle temperament. A fabulous dressage horse for a competent amateur to further develop.
She is a 6 year old mare and measures 163cm (16 hands).
She has been to many shows and is always calm and sensible regardless of the atmosphere. She happily stands tied up to the box or lorry, making her easy to handle on show days.
Slowly produced by a professional, Sika New Era has impeccable flatwork. She is soft in the hand and has a snaffle mouth. Competing in Dressage Ireland Preliminary and Novice tests, always scoring near or above 70%. She began Novice level in August this year and within two shows qualified for the National Championships. In September she placed 3rd in Preliminary and 5th in Novice at the Dressage Ireland National Championships in Ballindenisk.
Her training for Elementary movements have begun at home.
In addition to dressage, Sika New Era is a super safe hacker. She is 100% in traffic and isn’t fazed by tractors, trucks, bikes, deer, dogs etc. She is happy to hack alone or in company, in the forest, at the beach or in open fields.
She has done some showjumping and competed at a few unaffiliated 90cm classes, jumping clear. She has also schooled XC a couple of times. However, she can be nervous/lacks confidence in herself jumping and does not love it, so I have not developed her further in this area.
Loads first time every time! Travels in a truck, van, or trailer, with or without a friend. Absolutely no vices. No buck, bolt, or rear.
Sika New Era is a very sensible and safe mare; however she is forward going and a sensitive ride and is better suited to a competent amateur or a very capable teen.
I have had this mare from a 3 year old, she is much loved and will only be sold to a 5 star home.
