IPS Irish Horse Gateway Foal Championship Show

General November 2, 2016

The Irish Pony Society, Irish Horse Gateway foal championship show took place in Tipperary Equestrian Centre, Thurles on the 30th of October (last Sunday). Irish Horse Gateway was delighted to sponsor the IPS foal championship this year.

Mrs Julie Rucklidge of Jackets Pony Stud (UK) was invited to judge the well-produced foals, which were out in great numbers.

The day held twelve classes ranging from potential show ponies, Connemara foals, Irish bred foals and Welsh/Arab studbook foals.

John Dineen’s home bred filly foal Breenybeg Lucy was the star of the show, taking home the Part-bred championship, Irish bred championship and Supreme champion foal titles. Breenybeg Lucy is by Chinook Limelight out of the mare Astral Just a Dream.

Catherine Boylan took the reserve supreme of the show title with her chestnut colt Tyrrellspass Emerald Light, also by Chinook Limelight out of Paulank Lady Lucia.
