Dave Kavanagh and his family started breeding and producing horses at Ecklands over twenty years ago.
Dave and his wife have built up a core herd of broodmares that they have improved generation on generation to produce the very best of young competition horses. Dave takes sole responsibility for starting all the young horses on the farm with an emphasis on building confidence and balance with the youngsters.
Dave comes from a family that have had a long association with horses both working farm animals and competition horses. He is an outspoken supporter of modern Irish breeding and the mix of Irish mares with the best of European stallions.
